Business Activity Monitor, an interesting usecase for Hadoop

WSO2 Business Activity Monitor (BAM) has an interesting usecase for Hadoop. They are using a combination of Cassandra, Hadoop and relational database for capturing, processing and reporting of API usage for their API Management Suite.

Workflow:

1. Ingest: Dump data into Cassandra as data arrive.
   
2. Analyze: batch import and analyze data using Apache Hadoop and Hive.
   
3. Outgest: After running the business analytics in big data, summarized results are stored in Relational Database for reporting or dashboarding
